The current color challenge at <a href="http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.in/" target="_blank">Dynamic Duos</a> is very interesting with two bold colors to play with. Take a look at the colors here.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyLuOybuwXWGAtpPueokiM5691adJwVjJz4iVo09EdhHAr-i__8kW-_R6UZUtKFiHeSUzC-CVa-qWJtIFgcpKNMnfimNeB8YHVhRAXoo_9PQk_D0oRcFuWOPyllWqbM74cWWdFfibu-cLS/s1600/DD%2362.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyLuOybuwXWGAtpPueokiM5691adJwVjJz4iVo09EdhHAr-i__8kW-_R6UZUtKFiHeSUzC-CVa-qWJtIFgcpKNMnfimNeB8YHVhRAXoo_9PQk_D0oRcFuWOPyllWqbM74cWWdFfibu-cLS/s400/DD%2362.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I loved the duos the moment I saw the post and came up with this card for the challenge (<a href="http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.in/2013/07/dynamic-duos-62-orange-black-with.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+DynamicDuos+(Dynamic+Duos)" target="_blank">Dynamic Duos#62 - Coral Orange and Black with the option of Butterflies</a>)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0kkvAUMW8TrDZLN-FUtXrka9pkjBCSYQPRaYL9zIlrN1nEVwIbJ1ZFhYpvxCIy9Ah79cbepvrVgbhQXY8qTZGauZJ9ko-vJDnG5A7GLsjap01qpTgS5i38kxwyHFVbOxv92dsTjEDdu8A/s1600/DSC07791.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0kkvAUMW8TrDZLN-FUtXrka9pkjBCSYQPRaYL9zIlrN1nEVwIbJ1ZFhYpvxCIy9Ah79cbepvrVgbhQXY8qTZGauZJ9ko-vJDnG5A7GLsjap01qpTgS5i38kxwyHFVbOxv92dsTjEDdu8A/s400/DSC07791.JPG" width="306" /></a></div>
<br />
I stamped some flowers in orange on a black background and used some white color pencils to highlight some of the flowers. The use of butterflies was optional. The butterflies were stenciled and cut out from vellum. I found some orange beads in the butterfly centre and orange and white beads in the corner was the appropriate for the look. Completed the card with a "Wish Big" sentiment.<br />
<br />
Here's a closer look:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxgkJNbgtB8M1SSeHoOUST4L2rj8NvmU7-vSh0SYLXmT1xfF4gIa3FyL5fsfueV18gIbFRjwbWqE3okgFQoVdJpR1ZvmPTJCXSp40PRuyTzx7EwcP73GpizqhZAo11IVocZ2r1hr-8TIdY/s1600/DSC07789.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="368" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxgkJNbgtB8M1SSeHoOUST4L2rj8NvmU7-vSh0SYLXmT1xfF4gIa3FyL5fsfueV18gIbFRjwbWqE3okgFQoVdJpR1ZvmPTJCXSp40PRuyTzx7EwcP73GpizqhZAo11IVocZ2r1hr-8TIdY/s400/DSC07789.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

Hope you liked the card and thanks for stopping by. Till next time, happy crafting.</div>

It has been 12 days since my last post. The last few days were not so good with my baby and me both down with cold and fever. Hence crafting was parked aside. But I am back with a bang now. Such energetic has been this comeback that I was on a card marking frenzy last night. When I completed the last one I checked the clock and found it was 5.30 in the morning! The night had just flown!!!<br />
<br />
Here are the cards I was working on last night. This first one is an inspiration from <a href="http://casestudychallenge.blogspot.in/">Case Study</a>'s latest muse. I adapted the colors and the circular structure from the card to come up with mine. I cut out some oval shaped dies and inked the edges. With the same ink color stamped a heart image on each of them. I chose the heart stamp as it was the only one which was fitting into the oval shape.Not to mention, have set it on an embossed background. This one will be linked to their current challenge - <a href="http://casestudychallenge.blogspot.in/2013/07/case-study-challenge-150.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+blogspot/Bhjes+(CASE+Study)">Case Study#150</a><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuTcr7L85p87hM9_9Y9bQIySQTDJC0nlK05vc1324InJlh_Y5d94vNb0LWGFzyYXJR44YX_J0EcbH0Qn-vn9rVsEvo0warkyjYGsg91ewNkSkkkziaSFuVIL9WAJG3hI_8jqYMYQWWYZIc/s1600/DSC07781.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuTcr7L85p87hM9_9Y9bQIySQTDJC0nlK05vc1324InJlh_Y5d94vNb0LWGFzyYXJR44YX_J0EcbH0Qn-vn9rVsEvo0warkyjYGsg91ewNkSkkkziaSFuVIL9WAJG3hI_8jqYMYQWWYZIc/s400/DSC07781.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The second one would also be playing for another challenge - <a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.in/2013/07/case-this-sketch-37.html">CAS(E) This Sketch#37</a>. The challenge was to draw inspiration from the following sketch:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkhbCpH68nwzaOG8u3KhZ1Gb0bzRZ7CHD6z9YJ-Zuvb3gp5cY1BfNdRrnfcnb9AmWupbDdzO-asgyPFwt25VjNGqDeP3Nb_iPAN7KwIhfH6NpkdaHBAjIXf20OZms9xLmv9s33AnAb0mJh/s1600/CTS_37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkhbCpH68nwzaOG8u3KhZ1Gb0bzRZ7CHD6z9YJ-Zuvb3gp5cY1BfNdRrnfcnb9AmWupbDdzO-asgyPFwt25VjNGqDeP3Nb_iPAN7KwIhfH6NpkdaHBAjIXf20OZms9xLmv9s33AnAb0mJh/s320/CTS_37.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
And this was my version:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghrMYsU4N2TYu1uhXXxE9cOrU292nBwpl-0g2a4vckg-tHqfJFhfQIrxV1cnQS4HOzfg_gtb16lVNbdbiB9JiKw49xM7m69JJ8oAaHlARFOPcS0jvwvV5zzV4PL8HiByJlFLVUppwYqUNk/s1600/DSC07774.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghrMYsU4N2TYu1uhXXxE9cOrU292nBwpl-0g2a4vckg-tHqfJFhfQIrxV1cnQS4HOzfg_gtb16lVNbdbiB9JiKw49xM7m69JJ8oAaHlARFOPcS0jvwvV5zzV4PL8HiByJlFLVUppwYqUNk/s400/DSC07774.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBKkZGhUpeJL4QSUDQ0YnG4MnmxA5lHB7ctNNLbORepNCpjm7dI6J2eY_dCkUD-_apvv47veaj5HM_0brYIL5BD_4hLRtMgFhfMGWNGAKGKRZ_7NQaJIQfwv2Gl21arS9spH7XYaI8lkUK/s1600/DSC07775.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBKkZGhUpeJL4QSUDQ0YnG4MnmxA5lHB7ctNNLbORepNCpjm7dI6J2eY_dCkUD-_apvv47veaj5HM_0brYIL5BD_4hLRtMgFhfMGWNGAKGKRZ_7NQaJIQfwv2Gl21arS9spH7XYaI8lkUK/s400/DSC07775.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The concept was very direct.I have stuck to the hexagonal shapes, colored them with some water color pencils and placed a quilled flower of the same color on each of the shapes. I really love the effect it has created.<br />
<br />
The next card is a simple stamped card using some washi tape.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrV3TPA5tnWki8PI4FsdNFetug2gYLhfJ_bOAlXhaF0SKZen9W-SE2que_CzHmTqlWbW8Nue4KZ1dalULTXBYgBMFFglUtA1B0F1cY2H-ge_wWybrDkI99h28J4qwTQJ-aEzBj3VTEF5ea/s1600/DSC07777.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrV3TPA5tnWki8PI4FsdNFetug2gYLhfJ_bOAlXhaF0SKZen9W-SE2que_CzHmTqlWbW8Nue4KZ1dalULTXBYgBMFFglUtA1B0F1cY2H-ge_wWybrDkI99h28J4qwTQJ-aEzBj3VTEF5ea/s400/DSC07777.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then there was this card which i made with some cardstock and just two cutting dies. No stamps, no inks, no color digis, no color pencils. Just two cutting dies - I wanted to see what could be done quickly without any frills in around 15 minutes.Of course to add some interest to the otherwise staid look, I added two feather embellishments.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0hxop3k60lmKG2UuIg8RMOG6dnyxFmAY71PnkFPPz2LyF9aPZxTBA1453-VDnb0uiWRF3xgbD5VYAUiMy6cEK_MX70IHohzUQGYj66UkPjtQqmBd7FlBKC7bLAvnOnn_wx-Nx2jLED_Gn/s1600/DSC07782.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0hxop3k60lmKG2UuIg8RMOG6dnyxFmAY71PnkFPPz2LyF9aPZxTBA1453-VDnb0uiWRF3xgbD5VYAUiMy6cEK_MX70IHohzUQGYj66UkPjtQqmBd7FlBKC7bLAvnOnn_wx-Nx2jLED_Gn/s400/DSC07782.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNTc8BC8NjV4s3alLTgGIN9smE3Z51ZzNR6dCghOkuqr9Vxl5aPuJW3m5JYZAmj8hke44GrwxhgggBiHyaJmXhiVUeR7w2bNqSEuWX8U-tALJmvU-vdGVdNwMxKXckgvnI83RLiStwWcj6/s1600/DSC07783.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="345" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNTc8BC8NjV4s3alLTgGIN9smE3Z51ZzNR6dCghOkuqr9Vxl5aPuJW3m5JYZAmj8hke44GrwxhgggBiHyaJmXhiVUeR7w2bNqSEuWX8U-tALJmvU-vdGVdNwMxKXckgvnI83RLiStwWcj6/s400/DSC07783.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The last one is a card where I used a lot of elements- die cuts, stencil, border punch, handmade paper flowers, pearls and a digi from <a href="http://www.freekidscoloringandcrafts.com/index.html">Sarah Kay</a>. It's kind of the polar opposite of the previous card.<br />
<br />

Spent the last couple of days working on cards with butterflies. I really love this element in cards. They lend a touch of elegance. I am yet to own a cutting die for a butterfly. So worked with whatever I had available with me.<br>

The first card is a very simple one and it straight away follows the following sketch from <a href="http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.in/2013/07/freshly-made-sketches-93-sketch-by.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+FreshlyMadeSketches+(Freshly+Made+Sketches)" target="_blank">Freshly Made Sketches</a>.<br>

I did the second one with a Crafter's Workshop stencil and some paint. This is also a simple card with some washi tape, a flower and butterfly cut outs to complete the look. The last one is also a one layer card textured with a medium (some homemade gesso). The <a href="http://www.reusingwithquilling.blogspot.in/2013/06/mixed-media-tag.html" target="_blank">gesso recipe</a> was shared by Pooja from <a href="http://www.reusingwithquilling.blogspot.in/" target="_blank">Reusing With Quilling</a> and man it worked wonderfully! Would like to thank Pooja a ton for it. After the applied medium dried, I stenciled out the butterflies and colored them with water color pencils.<br>

Had made some flowers a few days back and had been meaning to use them for a while. So came up with this card last night.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha0nLzd_JPSdfxrTQsorMnXpuYurWOxtWM5Q0qZwL8M6j5Q2PXn7PIdM0oe0ZJ4ECVFlHPetyBRlQpAwEZ-Z1MOYKYIs3V6Ma6i1hTMViNIHSBOf5Yq_B68Vt8ZgHLDoSLc0obYP_oTNj1/s1600/DSC07748.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEha0nLzd_JPSdfxrTQsorMnXpuYurWOxtWM5Q0qZwL8M6j5Q2PXn7PIdM0oe0ZJ4ECVFlHPetyBRlQpAwEZ-Z1MOYKYIs3V6Ma6i1hTMViNIHSBOf5Yq_B68Vt8ZgHLDoSLc0obYP_oTNj1/s400/DSC07748.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is what I used:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The digi in the image is from <a href="http://www.freekidscoloringandcrafts.com/" target="_blank">Sarah Kay</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The pink background on which the digi is based is made with scalloped scissors and a punch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The white next to the digi is made by folding some thick thread.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The black and white digi paper peaking from the top is from <a href="http://sherykdesigns.com/" target="_blank">Shery K Designs</a>. I painted it with some hint of blue.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Rhinestones and pearls for some bling.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The charm used in top right corner is from an old earring. Right now I just cannot imagine having worn them....ha ha!!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made it a thank you card, this time for my Ma. She is a super energetic lady who explores stores in the remotest of areas to bring back great crafty stuffs for me. Her support is huge and this is a small token of gratitude!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a real fun to play with so many elements at the same time. I really enjoyed making this one. Here are some more close ups...</div>

Last night I was awake till 3 in the morning trying to complete three cards all at the same time. At just around 3, my 7 month old woke up with a smile, sat up, embraced our dog who was sleeping at his feet and gently called to me, as if asking me to go to bed. Luckily for me, I was almost finished by then.<br />
<br />
The first one of the cards is inspired by the current sketch at <a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.in/2013/06/case-this-sketch-34.html" target="_blank">CAS(E) this Sketch</a>. I made a quilled flower for he focus of the card and some buds and swirls to accompany it.With it I will be playing along their current challenge.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoKkFicHvSjvHdYmeNTykFHfZwCutwuFvGrStl9WvNAwOlMPDwE4r-8TAZZ3oINfsE5AFaUa5kgdN2cAjzpjzwIO6V86Q7MwlzEeQ6gCqDVnRZ1SMNAP44Zt4jwxFd5C-_-tUerU-ErvG_/s1600/DSC07738.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoKkFicHvSjvHdYmeNTykFHfZwCutwuFvGrStl9WvNAwOlMPDwE4r-8TAZZ3oINfsE5AFaUa5kgdN2cAjzpjzwIO6V86Q7MwlzEeQ6gCqDVnRZ1SMNAP44Zt4jwxFd5C-_-tUerU-ErvG_/s400/DSC07738.JPG" width="346" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC6CzZBYaGIpIQjZvfDjFTKL7L2CmYZ3xJSJGZqUf4PMKlkwAGIhMsltZIlFyPCsS77v6sEo4CMk1faWdc7jAsKZ4NJ9njnfOaSAt6F9hz5uCD93OugXUQ2zzH0yH4xXWtzl0iMdPomQmL/s1600/DSC07740.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC6CzZBYaGIpIQjZvfDjFTKL7L2CmYZ3xJSJGZqUf4PMKlkwAGIhMsltZIlFyPCsS77v6sEo4CMk1faWdc7jAsKZ4NJ9njnfOaSAt6F9hz5uCD93OugXUQ2zzH0yH4xXWtzl0iMdPomQmL/s400/DSC07740.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The next card's been made to participate in the current challenge at <a href="http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.in/2013/06/dynamic-duos-59-basic-gray-and.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+DynamicDuos+(Dynamic+Duos)" target="_blank">Dynamic Duos</a>. In this challenge one had to make a card in grey and any other color of one's choice. I chose teal and this is what I came up with.<br />

This is my first post for the month of July. This month I am aiming to do a lot of handpainted flowers for my cards. In this card, I tried some of my floral painting on triangle shapes (inspired by the current inspiration at Case Study Challenge). I also added a "Thank You" sentiment and dedicate it to my husband, Sudhir, who has been a constant support to me in all my endeavors. His encouragement and criticism keeps me going. The swirls were made from some glossy ribbon pieces. Overall it is quite a simple card and I have kept the embellishments to a minimum.<br />

This card has a lot going on. I myself kinda lost track by the time I completed it (ha ha, kidding). This is like the lasagna of crafts - full of layers and toppings.<br />

<br />
<br />
Here's what I used:<br />
2 digital papers from <a href="http://sherykdesigns.com/" target="_blank">Shery K Designs</a> and one from <a href="http://www.thepapershelter.com/" target="_blank">The Paper Shelter.</a><br />
The digi is also from <a href="http://www.thepapershelter.com/" target="_blank">The Paper Shelter.</a><br />
Used some die cuts for the purple corner and the leaves.<br />
I had the piece of lace in my stash.<br />
Some pearls, stones and buttons for embellishments.<br />
The flowers in the lower left corner have been hand-painted by me.<br />

It is becoming increasingly difficult to work in presence of my 7 month old. He is in that experimental phase of his infant-years where he's grabbing everything he could and placing them straight into the mouth. Wow! Quite a difficult situation for a crafter who has her embellishments all over while working. And dangerous too. So these days I am primarily nocturnal, sticking to all my crafty work at night only after my baby is asleep.<br />
<div>
<br />
<div>
I have been meaning to play along the current challenge at <a href="http://beyondgrey.blogspot.in/" target="_blank">Beyond Grey Challenges</a> for a long time now. The challenge involves creating an argyle in your project which I found very interesting - so I came up with this card last night.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRZeN84mFCNhZ02Tf2zsidqeONMQMYTB01vZKklN7MRdYsx1SehTz-o0CnasfcSWpfDbz65BO-S66Uw2qSW7Uek02WAp2KSLbMFo5SKLLmPBipqPGXlUeZUwYU14HjBghjycCiKCyBZ_BB/s425/DSC07634.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRZeN84mFCNhZ02Tf2zsidqeONMQMYTB01vZKklN7MRdYsx1SehTz-o0CnasfcSWpfDbz65BO-S66Uw2qSW7Uek02WAp2KSLbMFo5SKLLmPBipqPGXlUeZUwYU14HjBghjycCiKCyBZ_BB/s400/DSC07634.JPG" width="315" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Some newly acquired water colour pencils were put to good use to create the argyle background. Thereafter some die cut layer and then some quilling completed the card. And lastly have sprinkled three random diamonds with silver glitter. Here are some more close ups:</div>

Quilling flowers of various types is something I enjoy a lot. In fact I love flowers of any kind - quilled, or paper, fresh or dry, anything. Flowers just make me happy. And so many like me would agree. What is it in flowers that make them so endearing? Is is their colours or shapes or the fragrance? Not sure, but I am glad flowers exists on earth or God created flower (the statement changes depending on one's philosophical bent of mind). They bring out the craftiness in me. They really are a crafter's inspiration.<br />
<br />
Last night I crafted this quilled card with oranges as the colour scheme. I used a bit of pearl and some beads as embellishments. The beads are from an old bracelet that I had long given up wearing (upcycled item) Most quilled cards I see are mostly devoid of any embellishments. However, I like to be opulent with embellishments even if I am making a quilled card. Its interesting to experiment a combination of the various card making techniques with quilling.<br />

<br />
<br />
The flowers are pretty simple. I have pinched them with some swirls.The colour scheme is inspired by the latest challenge at <a href="http://thedynamicduoschallenge.blogspot.in/">Dynamic Duos</a>. I loved the way it turned out. I could totally use this card as a wedding invitation!<br />

With today's card I have tried another way of weaving quilling strips to create a mesh effect.<br />

<div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I first embossed a white card stock and then die cut an oval from the centre. Thereafter used two toned strips to weave the mesh. Then covered the back of the mesh with another oval die cut to give it a background. To highlight the emboss, have sponged some pearl acrylic (sky blue and white) paint on the two diagonal corners. I am in love with these pearl acrylics from Camel Fabrica and extensively use them in my works.</div>

The idea of inter-weaving quilling strips struck me when I watched <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NllWpDPKBHs" target="_blank">this video</a> from Christina Griffith's <a href="http://www.card-making-magic.com/">cardmakingmagic.com</a>. Her video tutorials on various card projects are truly awesome and one of the most-watched by me.When in this video I watched Christina weave ribbons to get the look, I thought of replacing the ribbons with quilling strips for my version. I have used 7 mm quilling strips for this card.<br />

The digi is from <a href="http://www.thepapershelter.com/">The Paper Shelter</a>, one of my most loved digital stamp websites.<br />

It was time to try something new - so I crafted a new kind of flower from quilling paper strips and created a simple card in line with the current sketch at <a href="http://casethissketch.blogspot.in/2013/06/case-this-sketch-33.html" target="_blank">CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge</a> shown below.<br />

I am super excited to participate in the very first sketch challenge. The aim was to create a CAS (clear and simple) card. Here's my interpretation of the sketch:</div>

and also for the quilled flowers. Did some die cut leaves in pink and printed
paper for the background to the flowers and embossed a strip of paper to give the look of a lace. Lastly added some glittered centres

glitter to a minimum. </span></div>

This is my first non-quilled card project to be shared here. This card was inspired by the <a href="http://itsybitsyindia.blogspot.in/2013/06/the-itsy-bitsy-all-that-glitters.html" target="_blank">Itsy Bitsy "All That Glitters' Challenge</a>. Once again I am not a big fan of glitters. But trying to work with something you are not particularly fond of - that's what ups the ante. I added a lot of pink - I am a total pink person. Ì had the image from <a href="http://www.freekidscoloringandcrafts.com/" target="_blank">Freekidscoloringandcrafts</a>. I love the images there. I coloured the image with wet glitters. Embossed and glittered a pink strip to give a lacey look. A couple of glittered flowers and swirls and I was done.<br />

I normally am not a fan of a lot of colours. I generally stick to a specific colour scheme while working on a project. Too many colours at the same time confuse me. That doesnt mean too many colours together can't be great. Its just that it is intimidating. But recently inspired by the Catchy Challenges' <b><a href="http://catchychallenges.blogspot.in/2013/06/rainbow-colors-without-rainbow.html" target="_blank">Rainbow Colors Without a Rainbow</a></b>, I came up with these two cards.<br />
<br />
With the first one I created a background with beehive quillling. Atop that I sketched a lady with her tresses covering most of her face. She kind of looks beautiful to me. This is kind of a card I would love to gift to someone really pretty.<br />

<br />
<br />
In the second card I created the background using Itsy Bitsy leaf die cuts. I searched my stash for coloured papers to match the rainbow VIBGYOR. I couldnt find anything in either indigo or violet. So I painted white papers accordingly and got the colours. I guess you can make out the coloured leaves from the rest!!! Atop the background, I quilled some simple white flowers & swirls and finished with some tiny punched flowers.<br />

Weddings in our country are lavish and full of vibrant colours. The exuberance of a wedding starts off right from the beginning, that is, with the invitations. Yes...the wedding card. I have seen some excellent ones in my life and hence was wondering how a quilled elegant wedding card might look like.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Thinking of it, here's something I attempted to craft - a paper quilled wedding card with an Indian touch.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp5QKnPWrugeXj-CWLQ64JYT7U3nwaSxGiF51IeftGBnS47m61rMpdZiGW1WDc-B4Y604zuVCTM5ZQQfEMgaZpNulKuiCgcP9XbhyphenhyphenEukLu8Ip-W_nANKAZ3BB7sivMXkWvcEhGr6b830vS/s1600/PicsArt_1370254143919.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgp5QKnPWrugeXj-CWLQ64JYT7U3nwaSxGiF51IeftGBnS47m61rMpdZiGW1WDc-B4Y604zuVCTM5ZQQfEMgaZpNulKuiCgcP9XbhyphenhyphenEukLu8Ip-W_nANKAZ3BB7sivMXkWvcEhGr6b830vS/s320/PicsArt_1370254143919.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I had to follow an elaborate process for the pink flowers. I painted a blank white sheet of paper with Fabricia pearl acrylic color pink. To get the silvery effect I added some dash of the pearl white. Then I cut out pentagon shaped pieces from the paper and folder the petals from it. Then arranged some 10 to 12 petals to form each flower. To finish it, added some pearls to the centre.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

To add some bling I used few stones along the swirls. I resisted using more as I did not want the stones to be the focus of the work. </div>

All in all, I found it pretty catchy.</div>

The small blue flowers were made by overlapping equal sized quilling strips and placing them in a circular fashion. The leaves too were made using the same method but are not of equal sized strips and were not arranged in a circle. I got the idea for these flowers and leaves from a daisy tutorial at <a href="http://papercraftss.blogspot.in/2010/09/quilled-daisy.html" target="_blank">Daydreams</a>.<br />

Ì advertently did not get too elaborate with the quilling part as the lace did that job for me. But what if the lace itself could be quilled? Maybe that's a project I should try sometime soon. Will get back to you all if i am successful.<br />
<br />
Till then, happy quilling!<br />

What I love about paper quilling is its unlimited creative options. Play around with the colours and techniques and you could something new everyday, for the rest of your life! I am new at this art and am still learning.....and I am hopeful this process of learning will never end. And as I am learning I am tempted to experiment as well. The creative side of me was dormant for a while now but has found vent once again. And I am loving this new me.<br />
<br />
In this card here I made a background for the actual work with quilling strips. I interwove them to create the background. This method is not unknown but I thought applying this as the background to the actual work will be something new.<br />

What a day! Laced with some things good and some not so good ones. But what day is not so? A part of the day feels good as the weather out is awesome. It's been drizzling all day, actually since three days now, and I am enjoying it. Of course people who have to step outside for work or otherwise wouldn't be much thrilled about the continuous spell of showers. But since I am at home, cant help but just enjoy it. On the other hand am feeling a tad bit sad about a certain news - that a prominent film maker of our cinemas has passed away. Did I know him?No not personally, but I loved his films. I loved the vision with which he created his films. I feel sad thinking there wont be such films anymore. That's my day today. But whatever it is, today feels just about the right time to start my blog. I am here to blog about my love for art and crafts, especially about my new love "paper quilling". I am new at this art and I aim to go a long way with it. And along my journey I plan to share my work with my fellow artists.<br />
<br />
My last two nights were engaged in conceptualising and creating something in white. I ended making this card. A card like this can be used as a wedding invitation or wedding greeting card.<br />

The word BLISS in the centre has been quilled. The white paper flowers are all handmade. For the borders I have used a spellbinder die.</div>

Keeping my fingers crossed. Meanwhile, do post your comments on how you find it and please feel to give your feedback. There's always one room in my house --- for improvement :-)</div>
